COVID-19 Athletics update:

On July 20, 2020 the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) determined that athletic seasons would not begin in August and further, that there would only be two seasons, the first of which begins in December of 2020.

The two seasons are broken down as follows;

Season 1: Boys Volleyball, Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, Cheer, Football

Season 2: Badminton, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Swimming, Boys Tennis, Girls Tennis, Boys Wrestling, Girls Wrestling, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Baseball, Softball,Cheer, Track & Field

To ensure safety for athletes, their families, staff, and in light of the December start date for athletics, optional pre-season training and workouts are now scheduled to begin the week of October 5, 2020. I realize this is incredibly disappointing to many who wanted to get outside and begin safe workouts with your team members. We did not take this decision lightly. Be sure to continue eating well and doing your own socially distanced workouts to stay healthy.

Athletic Department Mission

It is the John F. Kennedy Athletic Department’s mission to be determined to instill strong academic values in all of our student athletes while providing a safe and challenging athletic experience.  We understand the diversity in schools, and will ensure that student-athletes develop not only internally as a better citizen, but also externally by developing the required athletic skills for team and personal success.

John F. Kennedy High School athletics compete within the Mission Valley Athletic League (MVAL) which is a part of the North Coast Section(NCS). All students participating in school sports must meet GPA requirements (see eligibility). Our school has been achieving amazing accomplishments in the past couple of years.  In 2018-2019 school year, 10 of our sports programs qualified for North Coast Section Playoffs.  Our badminton program won 1st place in NCS Division 2.  We had student athletes compete in the state finals for track.  We also sent 7 student- athletes on to play at the next level in college.
